Depending on the severity of water ingress, it can take anywhere from a few days to a few weeks to dry a wet property out.
24 to 48 Hours. Mildew and molds grow on wood , ceiling tiles, cardboard, wallpaper, carpets, drywall and insulation. Mold growths, or colonies can start to grow on damp surface within 24 to 48 hours.
One of the most severe issues that can occur is the weakening of your homes structural integrity. Once the wood in your home absorbs water, it can rot and possibly collapse. Untreated water damage can also ruin your electrical systems, corrode plumbing, destroy your ceilings and walls, and cause mold growth.
